Conister Bank Appoints Two Independent Non‑Executive Directors
Conister Bank Limited has appointed Tanya Beckett and William (“Bill”) Shimmins as Independent Non‑Executive Directors, further strengthening the Board of the Bank.
The appointments reflect Manx Financial Group PLC’s continued approach to ensuring its subsidiary boards benefit from a broad range of skills and experience.
Tanya Beckett brings a distinctive combination of financial services experience and international communications expertise to the Board. She began her career in investment banking, working in financial institutions analysis and capital markets, before moving into a well‑established career in broadcasting and media. Over more than two decades, she reported and presented on business, economics and global affairs, engaging with senior leaders, policymakers and institutions across international markets.
Her career has spanned major financial and political centres, providing her with a strong understanding of macro‑economic trends, financial systems and the importance of clear, effective external communication. Tanya’s background offers valuable perspective on strategic context, economic analysis and stakeholder engagement, supporting informed Board discussion and independent challenge.

William (“Bill”) Shimmins brings extensive experience from senior leadership roles across the Isle of Man and UK banking sector, alongside a strong background in governance and public‑sector oversight. His career includes managing director and senior executive positions within established banking institutions, where he was responsible for financial performance, balance sheet management, risk, credit and regulatory engagement.

In addition to his executive banking career, Bill has held significant governance roles, including chairing audit and risk committees and serving in public‑sector finance positions. This combination of commercial banking leadership and public‑sector experience provides him with a well‑rounded understanding of regulation, risk management, governance and accountability, which will be a valuable contribution to the Board’s oversight and decision‑making.|
